Hello all! This is my first article on this website, and I'm using it as a sort of introduction to my page (I would write about myself too, but that's what About is for :p).

This page is primarily going to be the repository of my rambles and writings, largely pertaining to whatever I find interesting, which will range from discussing and "rating" media I engage with, political and religious analyses, and maybe even a little fiction. All of this will be properly tagged in the heading while potential triggers will have a subheading in the post itself, as well as sorted into their respective categories (once I find out how to make those myself).

You may be asking "why not Substack or WordPress?"

Originally, I was going to use Substack! My friends are on it, and after all, the things I would make would get more engagement over there. However, I chose Neocities because I think we are too willing to consolidate our information into big sites, like the aforementioned two or places like Spotify and YouTube to improve views and engagement. While there are benefits to a greater reach, it comes at the cost of losing the distinct "spark" of such a personalized and decentralized method of sharing information such as the Internet. This website and the things I will post in it are in direct protest and opposition to this - in a time where we are expected to rent out our existences to tech executives and venture capital, keeping a corner of the Internet to yourself, no matter how small, is an act of protest against the ever encroaching monopolization of content creation.
